So why are you here? You were encouraged to come as a part of your workplace professional development, but why are you here? Is it only because you have to be? Are you actually intrigued by some of the things we heard about at our recent Staff Development Day? Do you want to keep up with your kids or maybe even grandkids? How did the Library get here?
It all began with Stephen Abram's article, 43 Things I (or You) might want to do this year (Information Outlook - Feb 2006) and the website 43Things. Helene Blowers,Public Services Technology Director for the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County developed a Learning 2.0 program for her library and generously put it out in the public under a Creative Commons agreement that allows libraries around the world to share her program.
We believe that you will find something here that will impact your life, professional or personal, in a positive way. Remember, you are never in this alone! If you feel lost ask for help, it isn't far away.
